"Inception"
Spoiler alert! Don't want to know the official ending of "Inception"? Stop reading now. Sir Michael Caine revealed if the spinning top drops or keeps turning in an interview with BBC radio (via Gizmodo): "[The spinning top] drops at the end, that's when I come back on. If I'm there it's real, because I'm never in the dream. I'm the guy who invented the dream." So that means… Leonardo DiCaprio's reunion with his children was real life, not a dream within a dream within a dream.

Seeds for Nurturing

My new calling in the church is to prepare the weekly Sunday program & the monthly newsletter. I am adding a corner called "Seeds for Nurturing" to the newsletter. In my searching for short messages of inspiration I came across this. It's priceless but of course I can't use it for the church.
"Whenever I feel the need to exercise, I lie down until it goes away."
Robert Maynard Hutchins
Love it!
& that sweet Baylee, trying to help me out, brought over a page full of great thoughts for me to use. Thanks Baylee!

Toothless

I have decided not to worry about having a new crown put on. Just going to have it pulled. That will be TWO teeth I have lost this year!!!
Picture is a preview of things to come.
P.S. Actually, the one I will be losing this time is the very back upper left. Won't even show.

Happy thought about the life here-after

Grant's favorite food is shrimp. He has developed an allergy to all seafood so NO MORE SEAFOOD for him.
I'm thinking that in heaven we probably won't be eating other creatures, so he will probably never eat another shrimp. But I expect BIG HUNK candy bars may grow on trees. Hoping.

no more BIG HUNK candy bars

Yesterday, I brought home two Big Hunk candy bars (I LOVE Big Hunk candy bars!). Both bars were intended for me. Grant saw two bars and mistakenly assumed one was for him. He ate it. I said, "Be careful because last time I ate one (a few years back) I lost a tooth (crown)." Then I said, "This time I am going to be extra, extra careful eating mine." Two minutes later I reported that I had just lost another crown!!!
I LOVE Big Hunk Candy bars!!! Just LOVE them!!!
It's a bummer!!!

Controversy solved: Mod Podge is the brand name for Modge Podge!

I got this article from Google and we all know... Google has all the answers!!! Skip down to the last paragraph if you want to get past the details. I added the blue, bold, italic font for a more dramatic effect (or is it affect?)!

Decoupage Supplies and Sealers at Discount Prices. Mod Podge GLOSS 8 oz. $3.87 each. Order 12 for just $2.99 each Regular price $4.49.

Gloss based sealer, glue and finish for all surfaces. Mod Podge® is the original all-in-one sealer, glue and finish. It's perfect for wood, paper, fabric, and other porous surfaces. Mod Podge® works great as a glue. This waterbased formula dries clear and holds tight. It will adhere paper, fabric and other porous materials. Mod Podge® is non-toxic and cleans up with just soap and water, so it's great for kids.

Anyone can decoupage! Coat your object with Mod Podge, then take a picture or pattern paper and press it down, being sure to smooth out all the air bubbles. Then add more Mod Podge- it seems you can never add to much - it dries clear.

You want to make sure you let each layer of Modge Podge dry thoroughly before adding more, otherwise it will cloud up on you. Dries clear and glossy.

Planning ahead menus

We had a wonderful time today. We LOVE our get-togethers!
Menu for 9-26-10
Bread Bowls & Soups
Menu for 10-10-10
(remember this is the day Karlene is going to take family pictures)
Chili & Corn Bread
Rice Pudding
P.S. We don't get to see Travis very much (he is planning on being here this Sunday) so I want to make the Rice Pudding since he loves it. I know several of you love it also so I'll make 4 times the normal amount, or I should say Baylee will.

Three

Tomorrow marks THREE YEARS of Chuck and Amy.

On September 12, 2007, Chuck Keeler kissed me on a playground in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, and the rest is history. I do love this boy.

The annual book opening event...

Book #3
I'm quite happy with it - With everything but the crazy Mod-Podge job.
Things got a little crazy with that this year, but oh well.

PS: Do you call it Modge Podge or Mod- Podge??

Three Years Later...

Celebrating at Gloria's Little Italy in Provo

Three Years of "The Story..."

HIGHLIGHTS

The Fun...

The Sad...

The Pet

We finished off the evening at the adult session of our Stake Conference. Matt Townsend , a relationship guy, was our speaker. A GREAT two hours... More on that later.

Sunday Dinners

Last night Karlene, once again, as you all do from time to time, asked if she could bring a salad for Sunday. The reason I don't have everyone help with bringing food is because I want to give you all a day off.
Grant has his hobby -- golfing.
Mine is cooking for you. I try to do most everything before Sunday (so we can still keep the commandment - honor the Sabbath Day). There are last minute things to do but Brinley helps with that so it's not a big burden on either of us.
Bottom line - enjoy your day off.

Cute Baby Quilt to-be

How old is Kinzley? This fabric was intended for a "birth gift" (baby quilt). I'm 72 going on 92 and realize Kinzley will be walking before I make her quilt. Walking down the isle that is (marriage). So, I've decided to give up making something for the new great-grand babies. Broadbent's Store in Lehi (Karleen Sorenson's favorite store) has darling baby items so Lisa and I are going to check it out next week. I'll be "purchasing" new baby gifts from now on.
Older but wiser.

SNOW!

the weatherman said, "SNOW in the mountains tonight!"

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzip

Little (or maybe well) Known Fact:

My momma taught me nothing domestic. (Bless her heart.) :-)

Dilemma: Zipper on my temple dress is busted and it needs replacing. Help. Anyone?

She's flown the nest...

We got Whitney moved into her dorm. She's loving college life so far! I don't like the feeling of our chicks leaving the nest, but it's the circle of life. We're all settled into the school routine. So bring on the homework! (yikes)

Saturday Fun!

Ladies:

Oh, how I wish I could go. So I have to share the love: In case any of you (Karlene... BAYLEE...) want to go- there's a big Shabby Apple sale in Salt Lake this weekend! :-)
Ok so Jas said that he didn't think at 350 east there is a stop sign...... ???? So just turn left at 350 east ;)

Sunday

Directions to Church….
I was going to MapQuest it but it’s a new area and there isn’t a map for it :( Anyway the address is 605 N. Fox Hunter Dr. Farmington.
So you head west on Shepard Dr. go over the overpass and then at the stop sign (350 east) turn left….. Keep going past the church on the right… go straight at the stop sign and you will run into it at the end of the road. If anyone would like to follow us we will be leaving are house at 10:40. Let me know if you are coming so we can get a head count

Then back to their home for FOOD! Lori has made Kinzley's blessing dress and it is beyond beautiful!
P.S. Darci can you give us directions to your church?

Austin has been telling me for the past 2 months that he isn't going to preschool anymore!!! (PILL)
So we went backpack shopping and I kept telling myself on are way there that I was going to let him totally pick out what he wanted. I think it took all of 2 seconds for him to find this one and after that there was do changing his mind (even though I REALLY wanted him to!!) Austin if you cant tell LOVES dinosaurs and dragons so in his mind this was PERFECT!!!
So on the first day I was expecting tears but he ran right in with his dragon backpack on and everything! My little boy is getting so so BIG!!! (tear!!!)

A treasure!

Jonathan Chamberlain Ph.D., a cousin, has spent the past ten plus years compiling a book about our great-grand father Thomas Chamberlain. Finally it is complete. He hand delivered my copy on Saturday and I was so happy with the finished project that I purchased one for Lori, Lisa, & Ron. Then I thought of my siblings and enjoyed
purchasing one for Linda, Bob & Rick. It is a treasure. The CD has an additional 250 photographs, etc.
On the CD you can see a picture of Thomas Chamberlain (about 15 years old) and his mother, Hannah Whale Chamberlain. A great treasure!
P.S. Lori, Lisa & Ron will have to wait until Christmas for their books but they can look at mine anytime they want to.

Road to The Middle of Nowhere

Dear family:

Tomorrow PIONEER CROSSING opens. Do you know what this means? All of the Keelers can no longer be considered as living in "The Middle of Nowhere." :-) Cuz guess what?!!? We'll have a MAJOR ROAD heading right our way! That's right- soon you'll be able to ZIP ZIP ZIP right out here to Eagle Mountain. And it'll be awesome.

Tomorrow is a good day.

... Now if we could just get some more restaurants!

Grandma & Grandpa's house=SMILES!

Serious business for three little guys

picture #1. Look at the expressions of concern on Austin and Myles' faces.
picture #2. Success & smiles all around.

P.S. after looking closer I see that Baylee also is smiling after Tyson's success.
Poor Jeremey couldn't handle the stress of the whole thing and had to close his eyes. Then in second picture -- relief!

Love this blog!

This blog is such a fun way to stay in touch. Thanks Karlene!
Two dates to put on your calendar.
1. family photo date has been changed to 10-10-10. A great date for us all to remember -- my brother's birthday! And yes, a great date all on it's own.
2. July 30 to Aug 3, 2011 (four sleeps) for our Yellowstone Vacation. These dates aren't set in cement because we haven't booked the cabin yet but we are aiming for those dates. The same cabin that we used last time is available (the price has gone up but we think it's worth it). More details later. FUN!
