TAKE HEART! We are replacing candy with PRETZELS!!!

Oh, the JOY!

CANDY AMENDMENT

We will have candy in the house from time-to-time just not a "candy drawer". We won't eat nearly as much if we have to drive to a store to get some compared to just walking to the kitchen's candy drawer. Grant said, "You are admitting that we have no control." I say, "That's right."
P.S. Lucy said that candy was the first word that Grant learned how to spell. Lucy would ask Ken, "Do you want some c.a.n.d.y.?" Grant figured it out pretty quick.

NOTICE

We have decided to become a CANDY FREE house.
We will have candy for Easter, Halloween, & Christmas.
And of course the occasional Score Bar Cake, when requested.
Drastic changes I know. We'll have fruits, etc. for treats.
What about the candy drawer you ask? Gone!

Family Dinner 4-10-2011

Menu - Breakfast foods:
Hash Browns
Hash Browns
Hash Browns
etc.
Seems like Hash Browns are every ones favorite. Of course we'll have all of the other breakfast foods alone with the H.B.

Surely hope Lisa is up to coming. She had a hystermecty today. Tom reports that all went well and she is doing fine - just sleepy.

P.S. The reason we are having Breakfast Foods again so soon is because some of the family (who LOVE breakfast foods) weren't able to be here last time and the request was made. I love suggestions.

HOBBY LOBBY my new favorite store.

I found a do-it-yourself easter egg project that should be fun for everyone, who wants to, to make this Sunday. Even the little great-grands can make one.

I overdid the new Easter "grass" thing -- purchased too many. Does anyone want one, or two or . . .?

A Great New Family Tradition!

It began on Saturday night April 2, 2011 and ended on Saturday night April 2, 2011.
It was so fun!

What a difference a day makes

I woke up to frosting on the popcorn. It was so heavy, I had to hurry and shake some of it off before it broke a branch.

Steve in the MTC special on TV???

The last word is that it will be at 1:00 on Sunday. I don't want to miss it, just in case Steve is in it. They took a lot of pictures of him teaching Thai in his classroom.

JOY OF JOYS!!!

Grant needed a flash drive to take to the temple so I was checking out a couple of old ones we had, cleaning them off, etc. Well, I FOUND 1,047 LOST PICTURES!!! I had backed up my pictures on the flash drive before we signed up for Carbonite (who lost every picture!!!) Thrill of Thrills!!!
This is one of the pictures I really missed having. Trek - thrilled to be driving. Karlene - a bit stressed. Love it.

and Ruth came all the way from Washington, for Lisa & Tom's wedding, and wearing Purple!

(I was finally able to add more pictures of the wedding. It's really hard to be so stupid, but I'm used to it so it's ok.)

Kids grow up TOO fast! This was just 2004!!!

Tom & Lisa were sealed in the temple on this date - March 29

(I'm trying to add more pictures but having PROBLEMS! more coming soon)

I've been trying to organize our photos and it is taking forever because it is such a mess and because I have to stop and look at each picture and think "How Cute!". Came across some of the wedding - thought you might enjoy looking at them too.

Look what I found.

Looking through the pictures I came across this one taken back in 2005.

Cameras and Families are Wonderful!

New to family pictures is Heather (Jacob's friend) in the middle

WATCH IT TOM!!!
Kade is thinking, "I really don't want to go home yet!"

Looking forward to next Sunday's dinner! March 27.

Brinley has suggested Hawaiian Haystacks! Yum!
Dress accordingly, if you want to.
What does this pictures have to do with Hawaiian Haystacks? Nothing.
I was searching for a picture of Hawaiian Haystacks but couldn't find one. But did find this cute picture, taken in our back yard in Riverside, CA. CUTE KIDS!
P.S. Grant is still wearing those slippers! I gave him new ones years ago but he won't wear them.

Fake but Great

New fake grass! So much better than the old stuff and doesn't make a big mess like the old kind did.

Bought it at the new Hobby Lobby store in American Fork (where the old Smith's Food King used to be on State Street). And it was 40% off. What a great store -- much better than Michael's or Robert's crafts. Loved it.

TURKEYS!

We just returned from a ride and
we saw a flock of wild turkeys!!!!!!!!!!!
How fun was that! More that a dozen. Where, you ask? Well, I'll tell you. Straight north on Main Street in Alpine. Known as the Old Fort Canyon Road.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

Everyone has heard the good news that none of our missionaries serving in Japan were injured by the recent earthquake. 20 of them were actually living in the coastal areas that received the most damage -- there isn't much left of that area now. So why weren't any missionaries injured or killed? In today's Deseret News we read that all of them were attending a Zone Conference, held in Koriyama some 35 miles inland, at the time of the earthquake.

How big are leprechauns?

The other day at school, two little kindergarten boys were having a debate about how big leprechauns were. Then they came over to me and asked very seriously, "Are they this big?" "Or this big?" With their little measurements. I told them about what I thought. (Somewhere in the middle) That was good enough for them. I love those kindergarteners so much!

All ready!

Even a string of green beads for everyone.

I have fresh raspberries & cream to go on our waffles.
Lisa feels bad that she and Tom won't be here so we aren't suppose to have any fun without her. I promised her we wouldn't.
