Menu for EASTER SUNDAY 4-24-2011

HAM, YUMMY POTATOES, BEAN SALAD, CANDIED YAMS, JELLO, HOT ROLLS, ETC.

and the best part - a Spiderman Cake for the Birthdays. I asked Mike what kind of cake he wanted this year and he let Tyson tell me. He loves Spiderman so of course he chose that kind of cake. I was in a panic when Costco said they don't make Spiderman Cakes because they are copyrighted or something. Panic, panic, until I found that Wal-Mart makes them!!! Yeah! Happy again!
this should make Austin happy too.

from 4-10-2011 (the quiet Sunday)

It was very quiet. We had no great-grands having fun running through the house. We all missed it.

Lost & Found

THE VOTE!

At the dining table yesterday there was grumbling, yes actual grumbling, about the new no candy rule. Originally it was my idea but Grant seemed to be ok with it, so I thought, but now in retrospect I wonder. Amidst the grumbling Grant suggested a vote (now he had to have known how the vote would go). EVERYONE except me and Grant voted for the return of candy. I am beginning to suspect that Grant's heart wasn't really into the idea in the first place.
P.S. I saw a cute video on www.hersheys.com and had hoped it would work on this blog but it won't. You'll have to go to the site to watch the video.
HERSHEYS ARE BACK!

all fixed - as good as new!

Sign of Spring?

The tree was full of Robins this morning! There was one more, but he wasn't close enough to the others to get in my shot. While I'm anti-bird right now, I really loved waking up to this! :)
P.S. I decided I'm not anti-Robin. They know their place. And I'm glad it's in our trees. :)

Missing on Sunday

Darn! The Olsen family is going to a missionary welcome home (even if they aren't called that anymore) in Idaho.
P.S. all of you unmarrieds out there (in the family) remember, orphans only!

TAKE HEART! We are replacing candy with PRETZELS!!!

Oh, the JOY!

CANDY AMENDMENT

We will have candy in the house from time-to-time just not a "candy drawer". We won't eat nearly as much if we have to drive to a store to get some compared to just walking to the kitchen's candy drawer. Grant said, "You are admitting that we have no control." I say, "That's right."
P.S. Lucy said that candy was the first word that Grant learned how to spell. Lucy would ask Ken, "Do you want some c.a.n.d.y.?" Grant figured it out pretty quick.

NOTICE

We have decided to become a CANDY FREE house.
We will have candy for Easter, Halloween, & Christmas.
And of course the occasional Score Bar Cake, when requested.
Drastic changes I know. We'll have fruits, etc. for treats.
What about the candy drawer you ask? Gone!

Family Dinner 4-10-2011

Menu - Breakfast foods:
Hash Browns
Hash Browns
Hash Browns
etc.
Seems like Hash Browns are every ones favorite. Of course we'll have all of the other breakfast foods alone with the H.B.

Surely hope Lisa is up to coming. She had a hystermecty today. Tom reports that all went well and she is doing fine - just sleepy.

P.S. The reason we are having Breakfast Foods again so soon is because some of the family (who LOVE breakfast foods) weren't able to be here last time and the request was made. I love suggestions.

HOBBY LOBBY my new favorite store.

I found a do-it-yourself easter egg project that should be fun for everyone, who wants to, to make this Sunday. Even the little great-grands can make one.

I overdid the new Easter "grass" thing -- purchased too many. Does anyone want one, or two or . . .?
